My wife and I are contemplating moving to another area. We live in the middle of Kansas and really don't like it. We're looking for an area that is gothic and gothic belly dance friendly.
We would like to move to an area where she can get lots of bookings for dancing in various clubs and theaters. I'd like to be in an area which has a club that does a goth/industry night. We'd prefer not ot live in the big city but in a smaller town that's very close to a bigger city.
Another limiting factor would be that I have asthma and so very wet and humid areas are out of the question. Mold and lots of vegetation like in the south drives my asthma crazy. My wife has rheumatoid arthritis so areas that are very humid or very cold are out of the question as it really causes her entire body to swell up and hurt.
Hopefully these limitations don't come up with limiting the number of suggestions.

Fri, August 21, 2009 - 11:02 AMCalifornia sounds like the place for you- both southern and northern. Out here in southern cali. I could go to an industrial club every night of the week- if I didn't have this thing called work. And there's lot's of gothic bellydance opportunities.the weather's hot and dry- although we do have lot's of smog. you could live out in the boonies like me where you could afford a house. But I'm looking to leave Hemet just as fast as I can. I want green! In 2-3 years I hope to be in Seattle!

Wed, September 30, 2009 - 10:11 PMJust wanted to give a thumbs up to your wife for not letting her RA stop her from dancing! I actually got into belly dance as a home workout, because my Rheumatoid does better if I force myself to do some aerobic activity every day. Now I have joined a troupe and my first show is next month.
